Brancacci Chapel
The Brancacci Chapel is located beyond the Arno (Oltrarno) inside a church (as usual)and is known as one of the most beautiful works of the Renaissance period. The frescoes were commissioned by a merchant of the fifteenth century. It is a miracle that they were saved from a fire that destroyed the church in 1771.
